Owner
Summit Solar is owned and operated by Garrett McCarty. A graduate of Montana State University with a bachelor’s in Conservation Ecology. He developed a passion for solar energy with years of experience in construction throughout Montana with an immense motivation for sharing sustainable practices. His goal is to help Montanans become more self-sufficient with their energy demands. When Garrett isn’t installing solar, he enjoys Montana’s great outdoors; which include fishing, hunting, backpacking, snowboarding, climbing, and other recreational sports that this treasure state has to offer.
Lead Solar Installer
Sven Tate is Summit Solar’s Lead Installer, with five years of solar experience on, and off the roof. He grew up in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. In 2018, he moved to Bozeman to attend Montana State University where he received his Bachelor’s in Industrial and Systems Management. Along with his degree, he has received certifications from Solar Energy International, and various solar system installer programs. By utilizing his skills gained from his engineering degree to design, install, and troubleshoot solar systems he aspires to help Montanans access sustainable and independent energy. When Sven isn’t installing solar, he is skiing, mountain biking, running, backpacking, and scrambling the many peaks around Montana.
